Continental Fertilizer Better Amongst Others, Media

The West Africa Agricultural Development Writers Association (WAADEWA) has awarded the products of leading Fertilizer Company, Continental Fertilizer Ltd as the Best Fertilizer producers of the year 2022.

The award was presented to the CEO of Continental Fertilizer, Alhaji Ibrahim Saulawa in kano, on Tuesday in the presence of the company Director Alhaji Ibrahim Usman (Chiroman Zazzau) and the staff.

Continental Fertilizer produces fertilizer and Agro inputs for farmers in different parts of Nigeria.

Presenting the award, the president West Africa Agricultural Development Writers Association Comrade Musa Mohammed, said it’s due to proficiency of Continental Fertilizer in health, safety and environment (HSE) consideration; brand integrity, customer retention and prompt service delivery; service high quality, track record, value creation and work strategy; corporate performance, operational excellence and management, that’s why the award selection committee considered the company and bestowed the award.

“There is also the parameter of compliance with professional codes, ethical standards and IGRLT certified; and compliance with government regulatory laws and guidelines, among others”.

“Continental Fertilizer is a one-stop shop for farmers over the years and has received all necessary endorsements and accreditation and have helped Farmers to achieve bumper harvests in all aspects of Agriculture” he added.

According to the CEO, the company’s objective is to boost organic Farming in Nigeria and make Agriculture a very viable business.

NUT President Bags Public Servant Of The Year Award

The National President of Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), has bagged the Arewa Media Practitioners public servant of the year award.

Receiving the award in Abuja on Wednesday, the national president, Comrade Audu Titus Amba, commended the arewa media Practitioners for creating a mechanism to assess the performance of public servants, which he described as an important thing for the public servants.

Amba, challenged the arewa media to periodically monitor the works of their awardees.

“It is good you periodically recognise those you think have done creditably.

“The only way we will continue to do well is that there are expectations that people are watching and will hold us accountable.

“The harder part of your work is holding us accountable and making sure that we adhere to standards that resulted to the awards,” he said.

He commended the arewa media for the recognition and assured them of his efforts to do more.

Earlier, while presenting the award, the national president of Arewa Media Practitioners Comrade Musa Mohammed said the award bestowed on the NUT national president, was a testimony of his hard-working, selfless Services and good Leadership.

West Africa Political Writers, Arewa Media Practitioners, Africa Crime Reporters Association, To Honour Dr. Bashir Jamoh With ‘Leadership Person Of The Year’ Award

The Director General of NIMASA, Dr. Bashir Yusuf Jamoh will on Tuesday, 21st June 2022, honour with the award for “Leadership Person of the Year 2022”.

The Arewa Media Practitioners in collaboration with West Africa Political Writers Association and Africa Crime Reporters Association (ACRA), had been named BASHIR JAMOH the Leadership Person of the Year 2022.

The award presentation ceremony will take place in Lagos.

The National President of the Arewa Media Practitioners and also the acting President of West Africa Political Writers Association, Comrade Musa Mohammed said that the Director General of NIMASA is a worthy recipient of the award “because for his key role in steadying the ship of state through the storms as well as laying the foundation for the social intervention programmes in NIMASA.”

“We recognized Jamoh’s hard work, outstanding performance over the years and his immense contributions to the country and humanity”.

The President stressed that the recipient was carefully chosen from a poll the associations conducted that covered more than 5,000 respondents. “Asides that, we decided that we will identify people that are instituting fiscal reforms in their organization, as regards transparency, accountability and probity”.

And the award selection committee which consists prominent and interlectuals, their findings revealed Dr. Bashir Jamoh’a prudent management of public resources, accountability, transparency and good Administration, that’s why they considered him”, he added.

Arewa Media Practitioners Honoured Prof. Yakubu M. Auna and Rated COE Minna Most Innovative Top Best Valuable College of Education in Nigeria.

Prof. Muhammad Yakubu Auna was conferred with the Leadership in Educational Management award in recognition of his administrative skill by Arewa Media Practitioners.

The award presentation ceremony took place at Niger State College of Education Minna, on Tuesday.

According to the National president, Comrade Musa Mohammed, journalists are not pessimists, who only point to the ills of the society, they also commend those who contribute to the development of the society.

He said the Arewa Media Practitioners bestowed awards on those that make appreciable impact in various sector in Nigeria.

The president described Niger state college of education, Minna, as most Innovative Top Best Valuable College of Education in Nigeria.

“Prof. Auna is a visionary leader and an administrator par excellence”.

“This award is an important recognition of the efforts and commitment of the provost and his management team” he added.

Responding, the provost of the college, Professor Muhammad Auna, expressed his gratitude to the organizers of the awards and commend the Arewa Media Practitioners for choosen his institution for such an award.
He described the award as a testimony of the selfless work which is collective by the staff of the college.

Prof. Auna dedicated the award to the entire family of the institution.

COMMANDANT DIRECTS CADETS TO REDOUBLE THEIR COMMITMENTS TO THE DOCTRINES OF TRAINING AND DISCIPLINE!

The Commandant Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil-Kano, Assistant Inspector General of Police, Ahmad Abdurrahman, psc (+), mni has directed all Cadets of the Academy to remain steadfast to the doctrines of training, discipline and professional conduct.

The Commandant gave this directive today, 8th June, 2022 at President Muhammadu Buhari Parade Ground during the events climaxing year 2022 Commandant’s Competition.

In his address to Cadets of 5th, 6th 7th and 8th Regular Courses, who have demonstrated high vigor in the doctrine of discipline and professionalism during the maiden Cadet Advance Drill Competition, the Commandant noted that, the display of synchronization, organization, swiftness, orderliness and the display of the spirit of team work is very commendable, worthy of admiration and emulation.

He therefore urged all Cadets to redouble their commitments to training and discipline so as to keep the banner of their respective Courses flying high and higher.

Cadets of 7th Regular Course emerged the champion Unit for this year’s Advance Drill Competition. It is therefore expected that, Cadets of 7th Regular Course will remain the Champion Unit in the realm of Advance Drill of the Academy until the next Competition.

The event had in attendance the Deputy Commandant, CP Emmanuel Effiom Ekot, the DC Field Studies, DCP Bangs Gombit Kopshella, the DC Police Professional Course, DCP Adebowale Lawal, other officers of the Academy and some distinguished families of serving and retired Senior Police Officers.

Every organization or institution that is thriving is obviously blessed with a good leader. The Federal Medical Centre Nguru is indeed thriving because a man with a remarkable ability is at the helms of affairs. That person is Dr Abubakar Musa.

Since he assumed duty as the medical director of FMC Nguru in Yobe State, the medical centre has witnessed monumental and unprecedented development in various areas, including Service delivery, physical and infrastructural as well as hospital equipments and staff wellfare.

It is however good to point out right here the secret behind the accomplishments. On assuming duty he began by appreciating the efforts and contributions of his predecessors who laid the foundation stone of the medical centre.

This he did by thorough study of the available records at his disposal and physical inspection of existant policies, programs and structures in the FMC that gave him full insight and sense of direction of how to move the medical centre to another level of development.

It was from there he identified the most important and urgent needs of the federal medical centre Nguru.

In his effort to apply the best of his ability to reposition and improve the performance of this institution, the Medical Director was able to record numerous achievements:

Service Delivery: The Management, under his leadership has improved the various services rendered to the centre’s clients. According to SERVICOM has been upgraded and empowered to monitor all the service points to ensure that patients are served right. The Federal Medical Centre, Nguru is amongst equals to publish its Service Charter and keep clients informed about the services rendered and what is expected from the customers/clients.

Infrastructural Development: In the area of infrastructure development, the Medical Director, har done excellent job by ensuring that the Centre was renovated (construction and reconstruction) Construction of Amenity Ward
Completion of Orthopaedic ward to accommodate the newly acquired medical equipment befitting modern times, even a visitor to the Centre will appreciate the fact that most of the Departments/Units have undergone facelift as they are now looking new and beautiful and

Also, there’s Provision of Hospital Equipments across the medical centre whereby Purchase of Power Generating Set, Purchase of Environmental Materials, Tree Planting and Horticulture, etc.

Human Resource Development: A significant number of staff were sponsored for either long or short term courses during the period under review. In his bid to ensure best practice in terms of Healthcare is achieved, Dr. Abubakar Musa ensured that staff were sent for training and retraining in order to refresh and update their knowledge for better output.
Industrial Harmony
Over the years, the Medical Director, Dr. Abubakar Musa, has done a lot to maintain industrial harmony. His open door policy to the leadership of various Workers, Unions in the Centre through regular interaction has led to a continuous industrial harmony with attendant positive consequences of unhindered healthcare delivery in the Centre.

Relationship with the Host Community
In order to strengthen the existing good relationship between the Centre and the host community, Hospital Committee League of Friends and Conflict Resolution were reconstituted thereby involving well meaning individuals and holders of various traditional title to be mediating, in any case of complaints by a group or individual, so that lasting solutions would be provided to such cases.

RECORD OF ACHIEVEMENTS:
The Federal Medical Centre Jalingo, which is a Tertiary Healthcare Facility located in the North Eastern part of Nigeria with a mission to provide effective, efficient and affordable healthcare services to the citizenry in line with the Federal Government’s objectives for the healthcare delivery system.
The Administration came in on the 25th March, 2020 when Dr. Aisha Shehu Adamu was appointed as the substantive Medical Director of Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo. She took over the mantle of leadership on the 30th April, 2020.
Upon resumption the administration met a lot of gaps to be filled in.
Infrastructure, Equipments, Training Personnel, and Welfare.
In an attempt to make a change, the Management took on bold steps towards ensuring that the deficits are corrected and the gaps are filled.
With the big challenges and limited resources she was able to make some giant strides in the centre.
INFRASTRUCTURE: The hospital started operation from a temporary site, after 2 years the State Government ceded the then General Hospital Jalingo to the Federal Government for the operation of the Federal Medical Centre.The General hospital was built in 1965 by the post-colonial Northern Nigerian Government headed by the Sardauna Sokoto. It is the same structure in use up till today.The facility has undergone some adjustments over the years to transform it to a modern hospital as seen in the pictures below:

In the Process, a lot of equipments have been procured so as to enhance quality healthcare and diagnosis including, WELFARE: With the competing demands and the limited resources of the Federal Government of Nigeria being the financier of the Centre, Dr. Aisha Shehu Adamu saw to need to collaborate with Non-Governmental Organization and philanthropist for support and interventions which has drawn a good number of support to the centre.

Donations were received from various organizations which include:TRAINING
In every sector the accomplishment of any organization is tremendously relied on its employees, though it is expensive for the centre to spend the money on their employees but as part of her quest To transform the Federal Medical Centre Jalingo into a centre noted for high quality medical care and a centre of excellence in the control of infectious diseases through surveillance, monitoring and clinical intervention.

A total of One Hundred and Forty Three Training for both individual and Group training has been carried out since her assumption to office. The latest is the collaboration with the Nigerian Institute of Management Chartered (NIM).

PERSONNEL: The Management was able to recruit and engage to services of professionals in the provision of tertiary healthcare services. Amongst which includes the recruitment of 185 personnel’s thereby boosting the personnel strength of the centre which includes More Consultants, Medical Officers, Dental Therapist/Technicians, Pharmacist, Nursing/Midwifes, Medical Laboratory Scientist, Legal Officers, Health Officer and Others.

Therefore, this amazing woman will be awarded a position in the rank of best 50 people of the year by AREWA MEDIA PRACTITIONERS in collaboration with FOREIGN PRESS ASSOCIATION LONDON

YEAR 2022: COMMANDANT’S COMPETITION

“…I am hundred percent plus confident, my team is winning this year’s tournament…”

Those were the overwhelming expectations from Coaches, whose teams are contesting in this year’s Commandant’s Competition at the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil-Kano.

Speaking with Coach Olarewaju Tobi and Coach Isaac Ajik, while Team DIG Zanna M. Ibrahim engaged Team AIG Ahmad Abdurrahman in a Basketball Match at the Nigeria Police Academy Stadium on 1st June, 2022, day – one of the competition, they both expressed optimistism and assurances of winning the tournament in the Male Basketball category.

Umpire Agada Prince Divine, who spoke on behalf of other Officiating Umpires for the Basketball tournament, assured all the contesting teams of fair officiating through out the matches.

The Basketball match for day – one ended with DIG Zanna’ Team leading with 58 points against AIG Abdurrahman Team with 55 points.

Day – two of the Competition, football team of Cadets of 6th Regular Course engaged 8th Regular Course in a football match. 6th Regular Course defeated 8th Regular Course with a very frustrating one goal to nothing.

The Sports Officer, Nigeria Police Academy, ASP Shedrack Aminu Mai Samari, expressed his appreciation to the Commandant, Assistant Inspector General of Police, Ahmad Abdurrahman, psc (+), mni for giving him the opportunity to organize this year’s Commandant’s competition.

He assured the Commandant that, this competition will identify and explore sports talents amongst the Cadets that are capable of making the Academy and by extension, the Nigeria Police Force proud in national and international sports competition.

Finally, he sought for adequate financial budgeting and external intervention to sustain subsequent competition.

FMC NGURU Boss Bags Media Award

The Medical Director of Federal Medical Centre Nguru, Yobe State, Dr. Abubakar Musa bagged Arewa Media Practitioners Award of Excellence for Humanitarian Services offered to the community and society, and for his unwavering cmmitment to transparency and accountability, as the medical director and Chief Executive of the Centre.

The award was presented to him in his office on Wednesday, to recognize his immense contributions to the well-being of the sick and the community in general.

Presenting the award to the medical director, Comrade Musa Mohammed who is the leader of the delegation and the national president of the Arewa Media Practitioners said, “We don’t just give out awards, we make sure that the recipient have impacted the lives of others, with some testimonies of people, before we give you our award plaque.

For Dr. Abubakar Musa, the people spoke well of him, which motivated us to consider him a recipient of the dynamic leader award.

“We believe that awards should be given to people who positively impact lives and not because of your fat bank account.

There is no other life other than the one that touches others, It is the essence of living and a legacy that must endures for a long time”.

Receiving the award, Dr. Musa said he felt humbled and honoured about the award bestowed on him, saying “it is a form of encouragement and impetus to do more.

“I feel good and excited that we are contiributing something and people are independently acknowledging it.”

He noted that he had actually refused and turned down several awards because lots of them could not say what I did to deserve those awards.

“But the Arewa Media Practitioners has been able to tell us not only what we are doing right, but even gone beyond convincing me of their due diligence” he added.
